As part of the City Environmental Quality Review (CEQR) process necessary for project approval by the City Planning Commission, Stonefield forecasts trip generation associated with rezoning and redevelopment projects. Overall site-generated trips are then split by mode of transportation according to census data. Trips via each mode of transportation are routed to the site based on the location of residential neighborhoods, the configuration of the surrounding roadway network, transit availability, etc. Stonefield then conducts Level of Service (LOS) analyses of traffic signals, pedestrian elements, and transit elements. Finally, if a project is projected to cause significant traffic impacts in the surrounding area, Stonefield provides mitigation solutions where applicable.
