Stonefield worked with Urban Design Workshop Architecture to contain the historic elements of 235 Washington Street, famously formerly known as Arthur’s Steakhouse, while proposing a five-story mixed use building consisting of 4,375 SF ground level retail and 18 residential units which meets the characteristics of the surrounding area. The site plans to implement green roofing systems and maintains the existing rain garden located within the Washington Street Right-of-Way that has been constructed through an improvements program to beautify the City’s main artery and improve stormwater management. The development also proposes to replace a portion of the cobblestone located within the Court Street Right-of-Way. The site complies with the moratorium that the City has on Washington Street by routing all proposed utilities into 3rd Street.
