At the Crossroads

Drivers and their vehicles come and go and may come again, but intersections remain anchored stalwarts of access, opprtunity, and even placemaking in city. To commuters, they are the organs of our roadway network, where everthing meets, interacts, and redeploys. For tourists, they are the photo ops and sighs of relief after intently studying a map. For traffic engineers, they are the nodes that keep everyone and everything in motion, so much so that we need to design them to stop everyone and everything from time to time in order to maintain a very delicate balance. Achieving that balance drives Stonefield's engineers to create intersections that do amazing things--like processing thousands of vehicles traveling in opposing directions every hour.
