Stormwater Bioretention Facilities

Stonefield is committed to the use of innovative stormwater technologies outside of the standard detention and retention ponds typically associated with commercial properties. The bioretention facility being constructed above was part of a project located on a small parcel which could not accommodate a typical detention pond. Rather than designing a costly underground detention system, a bioretention system was proposed to both filter and control stormwater runoff. Consisting of groundcover, shrubs, and trees the facility is a simple, cost-efficient, measure to provide stormwater management and fits within small areas on site that would have been landscaped or grassed anyway.
