Mini Park(ing) Space

As more and more cities are retro-fitting their downtown areas to promote walkability, there is an increasing need to innovatively use existing roadway and parking lanes for more pedestrian space.  Creating a setting where pedestrians, bicyclists, and motorists can share our roadways and interact harmoniously is always a consideration in Stonefield’s design approach to redevelopment.  Parklets, like the one shown in this photo, provide a mini oasis from the city where parks may be scarce or sidewalks may be narrow, and aid in taking a step forward in the car-free movement.
