Placemaking

Placemaking has become an integral part of building downtown areas and communities and truly developing a sense of place that residents, commuters, and all people can enjoy.  This consideration is always an aspect of Stonefield’s design approach to land development and redevelopment.  Techniques that we employ include site investigations and field inventory to understand the communities that we are working in and implementing design techniques that gesture to already existing buildings and architecture.  Street furniture has become an excellent and cost-effective way to foster pedestrian traffic and change the look and feel of historically vehicular areas of downtown areas.  We are inspired by how the urban areas around us continue to evolve and create a sense of place using simple techniques involving art and design as shown.
