Context

The Maintenance and Protection of what is around and proximate to our projects is as important to us as the project themselves.  Residential density is vital to any downtown area as is preserving street traffic mobility, landscaping, and utilities.  Our site frontage is only one element of project management and construction administration.

Equipment Staging Areas

Equipment Staging Areas

Proximity to buildings, art, rail lines, pedestrians and many other constraints must all be considered when designing construction staging areas.  Stonefield prepares the necessary plans before and during the construction process to allow for the preservation of existing features and also for the preparation of new construction and rehabilitation.

Safety

Safety

Stonefield's expertise with regard to construction administration at the street level mimics that which occurs well above the sidewalk and roadway elevation.  Our firm provides traffic control and maintenance and protection of traffic plans that guide motorists and drivers to safe and efficient travel routes.  Required drum lines, trucks with mounted crash cushions, and other features at the street level mimich the safety fences and nets that protect the project workers up above.

Demolition

Demolition

The excitement of a project approval before a Planning or Zoning Board is often short-lived and the first question we are asked is often "how quickly can we begin demolition?"  Redevelopment often begins this way.  Our demolition plans provide the basis for which the first steps of the project construction can begin.  In Hackensack, shortly after approvals, the site was fenced off, jersey barriers went up in place, and redevelopment begins.

Habitable Communities

Our projects are someone’s future home, someone’s favorite store, or the building they walk by just because the architecture is comforting and reminds them of where they would rather be commuting to.  Stonefield knows that our canvas is for everyone to see and enjoy.  That is why safe, efficient, and diligent construction is so vitally important.  Stonefield’s professionals takes pride in providing our professional expertise for the world to see and experience.

Buildable Design

Going up on a Tuesday… actually going up every day, foot-by-foot our projects go from pieces of paper presented and reviewed in front of Zoning and Planning Boards to the newest additions in the community.  As the crane proudly claims “Lifting America” Stonefield is lifting, building, and enhancing our neighborhoods.  A quick phone call to the easy-to-reach engineer who lived the design of this project for a half-decade keeps the construction team building and the foreman and developer happy.  That is how you continually have construction projects that meet and exceed deadlines.

Whatever it Takes

Whatever it Takes

Leave the heavy lifting to Stonefield!  Want to be a leader in a cities rebirth by bringing new urbanism design, enhanced mass transit usage, and fill a food dessert? That is what this successful project accomplished in Newark, New Jersey, bringing investment and opportunities even further from the Newark Penn Station core.  In flattening and preparing this site, the historic center of Newark looms large in the background with Prudential and high-rise law offices in the distance.  But this is where Newarkers live and will continue to live.  Utility companies slow to move their lines?  Materials on backorder?  Weather problems?  A tenant driving an aggressive construction schedule?  Stonefield had seen it all before, and we had the attitude and the aptitude to overcome all of those to turn this plot into the poster child for the “New Newark”.

Skyline transforming…that’s an attention grabber! Been driving over the George Washington Bridge recently?  Well, then you have seen Stonefield’s work.  The permanence of our work will be seen for decades to come for the 300,000 drivers that cross the George Washington Bridge every day.  In order to get these monuments of success up and out of the ground it takes years of phone calls, designing, and reviewing plans.  For a site that has frontage on State, County, and Borough roadways, it meant ensuring the right standard details, specifications, testing procedures, and approvals.  For every floor you see these skyscrapers climbing there was countless hours of coordination between our designers, construction administrators, and these agencies.

The services you can't see

Behind this fence a missing link of the city’s core will be rise.  Stonefield provides Site Plan, Utility Plans, Signal Plans, Drainage Plans, and Off-Site Roadway Plans that were carefully developed using CADD and other visual tools to contractors.  Then the monumental groundbreaking will occur.  As the project progress, field changes and coordination between contractors, jurisdictional agency, and engineers is vital.  Stonefield’s ability to design and approve changes of plans, review new construction materials, and attending Pre-Construction and Progress Meetings allows for construction to maintain schedule.  Whereas the public sees the heavy equipment, it is the reams of plans and calculations that drives this project.

Urban infill

Urban infill

Urban infill development has been a burgeoning market providing benefits to both developers and communities.  Sites that have long laid fallow begin the process of being reborn, bringing back a bustling feeling to neighborhoods of decades gone by.  Clean up of such sites begin by removing manmade debris such as discarded tires and old pipes.  Soon this site will be flourishing with flowering trees and an active mixed-use development.
